Joining a society or club to do with one of your interests is a very effective way of meeting like-minded people. Sports teams are especially well-developed in Hong Kong, with many rugby teams, cricket teams, squash clubs and clubs related to many other sports. Also running and trekking clubs are common in Hong Kong and there are often trips off to some of the more remote islands for hiking and jogging.
If you’re keen to meet expats that come from your home country, then your best bet is to apply to your chamber of commerce. Most countries will have a chamber of commerce in Hong Kong. The chambers generally organise frequent events aimed at getting people to network and converse.
